Mission Statement: Children perform better when they know they are cared about. I believe that in art class at Hartley, everyone can achieve their own individual level of success.
In producing a piece of art, the child experiences many processes. Creativity requires both observation and introspection. Art is direct communication. The manipulation of art materials requires physical and mental dexterity, fine motor skills and eye-hand control. Creative problem solving skills and decision-making skills are developed along with a stronger sense of self-esteem!
